22nd VDI Conference on Combustion and Boilers - Coatings and Corrosion - in Large Combustion Plants
The established 22nd specialist conference on 13-14 May 2025 in Magdeburg will focus on optimising the operation of furnaces and boilers in large combustion plants with heterogeneous fuels, such as waste, biomass, sewage sludge or substitute fuels. Future topics such as carbon capture, AI-supported waste quality analysis, new technologies, the combustion of sewage sludge or other biomass as well as requirements for materials and protective coatings will also be highlighted. The conference will focus on sharing practical experience.
bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH is represented with the following contribution:
Quantitative model of high-temperature chlorine corrosion in waste incineration plants
- Mathematical-physical model for the calculation and prediction of steady-state high-temperature chlorine corrosion of superheater tubes in power plants with alternative fuels
- Description of corrosion, particularly in the 1st and 3rd pass
- Validation of the calculation tool with real plant data
