Climate change – challenges for the economy
Minimise risks, seize opportunities
The challenges that climate change poses for the economy are complex and have been noticeable for a long time. Due to its effects and new legal regulations, a change in thinking must take place among companies and the population.
In addition to the important efforts to slow down climatic warming, companies need to take adaptation measures to manage the impact of current and expected climatic conditions on their operations, their productivity and on their employees.
Securing the future through climate adaptation in the enterprise
In our projects with craft enterprises, industrial companies, trade, municipalities and energy suppliers, it becomes clearly evident: both positive and negative climate change impacts are already a reality for companies today. Across all sectors, companies agree on the importance of improving health and safety at work: the workforce must be sustainably trained, preventive measures must be expanded, and employee retention plays a central role. Buildings must be made extremely weatherproof – be it in heat, heavy rain or storms. Securing supply chains by restructuring and intensifying cooperation on issues relevant to climate change has become elementary for many.
Exploiting opportunities by opening up new business areas
It is important to recognise product developments or services relevant to climate change at an early stage or to initiate and expand them. We can support this process through moderation, interviews and the development of concrete measures such as climate protection and adaptation concepts.
