IHK market fact-finding trip to Iran

Following discussions with the Governor of the province, the Mayor of Arak and the President of the IHK Arak, they declared their joint will to work together more closely in all main economic areas. This mainly includes cooperation in advice on environmental issues, trading and investment relationships as well as joint research and development work. Following the lifting of the EU economic sanctions against Iran, the Swabian IHK sees large potential for companies from the region and, as part of its own internationalisation strategy, would like to enter into an institutionalised cooperation with the IHK Arak.

The aim is to facilitate market access for its own companies, especially as the authorities and companies in the Markazi province are particularly interested in cooperation in the following branches of industry:
•    water and environmental technologies,
•    refinery and power plant construction,
•    locomotive and wagon/carriage building,
•    mechanical engineering and
•    process engineering, industrial automation.

Top level discussions were held with the Governor of the Markazi province, the Mayor of the City of Arak, the President of the IHK Arak, representatives of various authorities and large businesses, and starting points for cooperation were determined.
