Change in the management of bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH
Professor Dr. Nadine Warkotsch and Thomas Weber succeed Professor Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Rommel
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Rommel has been managing director of bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH since 2004 and will retire on 31.12.2024. In future, the environmental institute will be managed by a dual leadership team.
Managing director and scientific institute director, Prof. Dr. Nadine Warkotsch
Prof. Dr. Nadine Warkotsch will work for the bifa environmental institute from January 1, 2025. She completed her doctorate at the LMU in 2004 and then worked in industry for a long time, most of it at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA in Düsseldorf. In 2013, she founded her own company, which advises companies on how to apply for technical and environmental research funding. Prof. Warkotsch worked as a lecturer at the Munich University of Applied Sciences for many years and in 2019 she was appointed as a professor of general chemistry, environmental chemistry and construction chemistry at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Warkotsch, what are your hopes for your future at the bifa environmental institute?
For many years, the bifa environmental institute has reliably made an important contribution to the good and sustainable management of the, in my view, stark tasks that we have in the environment and thus also in the economy and society. This should also be continued under my scientific leadership. I would like to work with everyone at bifa to further develop solutions, search for and find completely new, interdisciplinary solutions and implement them together with our partners.
Managing Director Thomas Weber
Mr. Thomas Weber has been a managing director at the bifa environmental institute since November 1, 2024. After studying business administration, he gained many years of management experience in international medium-sized companies and in management consultancy. His main areas of expertise are in the fields of finance, controlling, human resources, IT and purchasing/sales. He also has extensive knowledge of business planning and strategy development.
Mr. Weber, how do you see your future tasks at the bifa environmental institute?
I am convinced that sustainable success is achieved through empathy, reliability and credible behaviour. Nothing can be achieved alone; only together as a team can we make the necessary adjustments to constantly changing conditions. We want to continue to promote the unique selling point of ‘bifa’ in the future and strengthen our market position and practical research. In doing so, we are making a valuable contribution to the climate and environmental issues of our time.
